Chaos to Calm
Our Vision
Emotions drive our lives.

We are capable of amazing things but too often we are held back by how we feel. Fear, anger, anxiety and guilt stop us from flourishing and being who we want to be. They affect our time in school, the workplace and our relationships.
We exist to improve wellbeing and help people achieve emotional control and navigate life's challenges.

Our Approach

Our approach is inspired by CBT, mindfulness and a pioneering framework called Emotional Logic.
Emotional Logic is a personal development approach used by people to improve emotional intelligence in difficult situations. It helps people make sense of unpleasant emotions, uncover core values and adapt to find a way forward.
Our approach is both practical and conceptual. Finding a way forward means regaining core values by changing our actions; our focus; and the stories we tell ourselves.
Our work takes place at an individual or organisational level.
CLIENT TESTIMONIALS
Don’t Take My Word for It
Halcyon have worked with students in our school from years 9-11 with huge success. We have seen a great improvement in the confidence of our students in their approach to assessments and mock examinations; they are able to utilise a range of strategies bespoke to them to overcome anxiety. We would definitely recommend Halcyon and look forward to continuing to work with them to support our learners.
Dean Academy
Halcyon have been working within our Youth Service team for the last six months. There have been many success stories from their 1-2-1’s. Halcyon have shown these by producing quarterly reports with outcomes, case studies, ELDP Questionnaire results and comments from staff and young people. We have now commissioned Halcyon to train our Youth Workers.
Monmouthshire County Council
John is an inspiring role model. He has built up a great rapport with the students in a short period of time and has helped them identify and manage some of the barriers they have to learning. The students rate John very highly and I can see the impact of his work with them in and outside of lessons. I would highly recommend.

About me
Johnathan Lane
I started Halcyon in 2022 to provide specialist mental health and wellbeing support to children struggling in school.

The endeavor has grown quickly and we're now working with adults, schools and businesses on how they can use psychological practice to support themselves and the people around them.

The journey began back in 2005 when I began my career as a history teacher.
Whilst teaching about the Battle of Hastings was great fun I became preoccupied with why some students have motivation whilst others struggle; why some bounce back and others sink; and why some are open to advice while others close down.

This curiosity took me up the pastoral career ladder to Head of Sixth Form, Assistant Head Teacher and now to Halcyon.

I miss being a teacher but I love the freedom of working with a range of people and organisations. This is on an individual level and embedding best practice in the workplace.
